Emir appoints new Are Ogele
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has approved the appointment of a new Are Ogele in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He is Alhaji Abubakir Ishola Akanbi Ori-Okoh.
The Emir made the announcement yesterday at his palace when he addressed a cross-section of indigenes of Ogeleland.
Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari appealed to all other contestants to support the new Are Ogele for him to succeed as the new title holder.
The Emir equally urged the new Are of Ogele to see his position as for the entire community and a call to duty and carry everybody along in promoting the people of Ogele Community.
Alhaji Ishola Akanbi succeeded the late Are Ogele, Alhaji Ibrahim Ishola Are who died last Tuesday at the age of eighty nine.
The new Are of Ogele was born on the second of January nineteen-forty-five and attended Oke-Aluko LGEA Primary School Ilorin between nineteen-fifty-nine to nineteen- sixty-two, Baboko Senior Primary School, Ilorin Demonstration School, Ilorin, Government Printing training School, Kaduna and Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna between nineteen-ninety to nineteen-ninety-one.
The new Are Ogele worked as a machine operator at Obadaki Press Limited, Kaduna, Machine Mender at the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation, Ilorin while he received Nigerian Herald Merit Award in nineteen-ninety-three before retiring from state government service in nineteen-ninety-seven.
Alhaji Ishola Akanbi was a former ward Chairman of APP, Ward Vice Chairman of PDP and a former Board Member of The HeraldNewspaper between two thousand and eight and twenty-twelve.
Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have started pouring in over the appointment of the New Are Ogele, Alhaji Ishola Akanbi while Daudu of Fagba, Alhaji Alabi and the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammed described the choice of the new Are of Ogele by the Emir as a round peg in the round hole.
