Ahmed promises good governance

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has promised to run the state with renewed vigor to deliver on good governance starting from the 29th of next month.

Governor Ahmed made the promise on Monday at his lodge when he received political appointees led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold.

According to him, the next four years will be used to consolidate on his achievements across the state. 

Governor Ahmed promised to consult, review and take decisions that would make him deliver on his promises to the people of the state in the areas of infrastructure, human capital development, education and strong civil service.

He stressed that the APC government at all levels would showcase good governance with unprecedented record of achievements that would see the party setting the pace in the country.

In aviation sector, Governor Ahmed gave the assurance that the sector would be driven to an enviable level while the cargo at the Ilorin International Airport would be developed with the support of the Federal Government to engage more youths and improve the state economy.

Expanding Opportunities
The Governor who admitted that the business of governance is daunting, expressed hope that the state would be in a vantage position under the APC led Federal Government to expand opportunities for both political and career officers. 

Governor Ahmed commended all the political appointees for working tirelessly for the victory of the APC at their respective communities, and assured them of inclusive government for collective participation.

Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold had congratulated Governor Ahmed on the hard-won victory at the poll and promised that political appointees would continue to deliver on the mandate given to them by the government.

Dividends of Democracy

In the same vein, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki says the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels in Kwara State will translate into better dividends of democracy in the state.

Senator Saraki stated this in Ilorin, when he paid a felicitation visit to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed on his victory at the just concluded poll at the Governor's lodge. 

The Senator who is the Leader of APC in the state said that the state would get a better deal under General Muhammadu Buhari with a view to improving the living standard of the people. 

The lawmaker congratulated the governor on what he described as hard won battle, advising him to justify the confidence reposed in him by all Kwarans.

Senator Saraki also expressed gratitude to the governor for staying focused despite the pressures from the PDP led Federal Government, saying that the governor had proved to be a good ambassador of the APC.

The APC Leader urged Governor Ahmed to be focused on projects that would make the state stronger, pointing out that the state will continue to set the pace for others to follow in the country.

Senator Saraki charged the Governor-elect to represent the party well, as the APC would count on his success for the twenty-nineteen polls in the state.
