Re-fixing Nigeria: Gov Ahmed calls for cooperation of all

Date: 2015-04-06

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State yesterday in Ilorin called on Nigerians to support the in-coming APC-led Federal government to enhance the project of re-fixing the country and ensuring aggressive deliverance of democratic dividends.

Ahmed also described the APC's victory as most symbolic, being the first time in the history of Nigeria for an opposition party to defeat the incumbent president.

The governor who joined other Muslim faithful at Al-fatihul Quareeb weekly Assalatu in the state capital, expressed joy that the vision for a new change has come to reality with the victory of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last presidential election.

"Thank God the right man has come and never again will Nigerians be molested and plunged into hardship has experienced under PDP regime", the governor added. He, however, noted that APC was not a party of vengeance, but has a large heart to accommodate every Nigerian and urged people left behind in the PDP to embrace the new change in order to cue into the mainstream of the nation's politics.

The governor who thanked Kwarans for their massive supports in the last election, appealed to them not to rest on their oars to get the job done again by electing all the APC candidates in the coming Saturday elections.

There is no meaning, according to him in voting for different party with the party at the Federal level. Nothing good will come out of that.

He also advised Kwarans to replicate the same peaceful behaviour they exhibited during the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections in the upcoming April 11 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

He therefore urged the people, especially youths not to engage in acts of violence or any activity capable of denting their image and that of the state.
