KWSG announces new vacation date for primary, secondary schools

Date: 2015-02-28

The Kwara government on Friday announced new second term vacation date for primary and secondary schools in the state.

To this end, Alhaji Saka Onimago, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, has directed all primary and secondary schools in the state to proceed on vacation on March 25.

The directive is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, the Director, Quality Assurance Bureau, on behalf of the commissioner.

According to him, the amendment in the state’s school calendar is informed by the forthcoming general elections in the country, billed to hold on March 28 and April 11.

Onimago then directed principals and head teachers to effect necessary adjustments in their academic activities to ensure minimum loss on the part of students.

The commissioner further directed schools to resume for the third term academic session on April 27, as earlier approved by the state government.

He enjoined pupils and students to conduct themselves peacefully and be law abiding throughout the holiday period and beyond. (NAN)
