OPINION: Saraki Dynasty Will Exist Long After Suleiman is Minister. By Abdulakeem Sulieman

Date: 2014-10-30

Apparently, the group of selfish overnight leaders of scanty followers who are emerging under the platform of PDP in Kwara state are seriously struggling for recognition, having been empowered by the federal government at the detriment of Kwarans- all is understood but these group of people must be rebuked by Kwarans and their commentaries about their mission to liberate Kwarans must be strongly slammed and disdained as empty.

Therefore, it is not strange that the bootlicking members of the crisis-ridden Kwara PDP are taking full advantage of a presidency whose leadership deficit grow everyday to amass wealth and fame for themselves while deceiving Kwarans. A group of people who are caught up in their own pride, power, selfishness and arrogance, yet craving they want to govern Kwara. Even though they have not been able to govern their own homes, offices and party- they are more concerned about the popularity and ambition than the welfare of Kwarans. Fortunately, Kwarans are courageous enough to identify and reject such generation of leaders.

I’m reacting to an interview with the so called Minister from Kwara- Sulieman Abubakar which was published in their sponsored Daily Trust- “Saraki Dynasty Must Be Sacked From Kwara”. Since Abubakar took the oath into office on 23rdof July, 2014, he has been desperate for fame and popularity through crass and uncultured statements in the media which have proved him as a weak and unguided servant. First, putting aside the fact that over 90 days of his appointment, Kwarans are yet to feel the impact of a minister from their dear state, the minister’s track reflects the incapability of the presidency which has failed Nigeria.

Anyone who has been following the trend of events will not be surprised at Abubakar’s public misbehaviour. He is a product of corruption, mismanagement and retardation and therefore cannot be expected to adopt an intelligent or intelligible approach to matters of national importance. One question that keeps coming to mind is, is the battle against Saraki family or the battle is to transform Kwara into a better society? Furthermore, as an academic, I presume Abubakar and perhaps his colleague, Professor Oba, must have asked one another, why is the Saraki family dear to the heart of Kwarans? It’s simple, leadership is earned, and any leadership that is not earned will be abused. The Saraki dynasty is a family that is inherently characterized with charity and human welfare, not only in Kwara or Nigeria but even beyond, so impacting their own immediate society is nothing but a way of life to them.

It is unfortunate that the so-called freedom fighters in Kwara today are the same set of people who have benefitted from the Saraki dynasty which they are confronting today. There is need for Kwarans to summon the Minister for his rude and uncultured statements against Kwarans- and the best response to this shame is for us all to rise up and rebuke racketeers and careerist like Suleiman Abubakar and his gang of crooks. I challenge Abubakar to come out with developments he claimed he has brought to his people in Kwara; when he couldn’t even pray in his compund Mosque in Agbaji because as he was rebuked by youths, women and elders of his own family house to the extent that they did not allow him to pray in same mosque with them.

The pertinent questions that should be asked at this juncture is, How many projects has Suleiman executed or contributed to his immediate community not to talk of kwara state? How many students has he sponsored in any school within or outside the state? How many aged people from his Agbaji home has he taken care of in the last few years or Months ? How many empowerment projects has he done for youths and the unemployed? Kwarans are not fooled by the lies of selfish leaders. The Saraki dynasty is not reigning in Kwara by the virtue of imposition or federal might, the dynasty is reigning based on the rare desire to improve the welfare of Kwarans. It is a shame that a minister of National Planning will ridicule the office of a minister no matter how low his portfolio to focus his energy on a Minister of Saraki affairs.

It is now within the public knowledge that the only point of agenda and assignment given to Mr. Minister Suleiman is Saraki agenda. No more, no less. This is a big shame to Suleiman himself, his sponsor and his party. A minister of Federal Republic who has no any other work to do or he has but decided to abandon same to please his paymasters by attacking Saraki dynasty as his only project in the ministry is a waste of public fund. I am convinced that the Senate never envisaged that Minister Suleiman would turn himself and convert his official portfolio to Ministry of Saraki's Affairs. What a shame!

It is quite telling that in the lengthy interview Suleiman granted, he spent much time attacking Dr Bukola Saraki rather than outlining any plans the Federal Government may have for the nation. It is clearly an indication of the lack of any cogent or meaningful development plans for the nation by the nonfunctional Federal Government he serves.

Let Suleiman know today if he does not know that Saraki Dynasty is not a ministry or paper work but a creation of God Almighty with a mission to look after welfare of the masses not only in Kwara state but throughout the nation. The dynasty did not just spring up overnight. Suleiman and cohorts are beneficiaries. I forsee that when Suleiman would have finished his seven Months assignment overseeing Saraki's Affairs, he would have left a legacy as the most outstanding Minister of Saraki affairs as a result of his performance in this regards.

He who knows not, and he knows that he knows not, thinking that he knows when he knows not, is a fool. Suleiman should bury his face in shame by calling for the sack of Saraki Dynasty in kwara state. This is an indication that the Minister lacks home training. It is either he was taught and he refused to accept training. Suleiman should know that the Saraki dynasty will still remain long after his tenure as Minister of Saraki's Affairs. Saraki Dynasty is a political tree that can not be uprooted, rather, people takes refuge under it and they are satisfied.
