Unilorin hosts conference on Islam in Nigeria.

The  Islamic Welfare Foundation (IWF), in collaboration with the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the University of Ilorin, has announced the 2014 Conference on Islam in Nigeria (COIN). The conference comes up between November 23 and November 26, 2014 at the University of Ilorin.

According to a statement signed by the former Dean of Law, University of Ilorin, who is also the National Secretary of IWF, Prof. Abdulwahab Egbewole, the theme of the 2014 conference is: “ Islam and the Nigerian State- A Centenary of Building Theocracy and Secularism”.

The sub-themes of the conference are: “Islamic Theocracy and Nigeria”, “Nigeria and the Islamic World”, “Islam and Nigeria's Political Development”, “Sharī'ah and Nigeria's Constitutional Development”, “Islam and Insurgency in Nigeria”, “Islam and inter-Faith Relations in Nigeria : Role of the Media”, “Islam and Nigeria's Socio-Economic Development”, “ Islam and Human Rights in Nigeria”, “Islam on National issues e.g. Resource control ,Immunity Clause , terrorism and Anti-Corruption”.

Interested Scholars have been enjoined to send their abstracts on or before September 30, 2014, while the full papers are to be sent on or before October 15, 2014, to: 2014coin@iwf.com.ng and visit www.iwf.com.ng  for more information
