Kwara PDP strategizes for 2015

Date: 2014-04-18

The newly elected Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State, Barr Iyiola Oyedepo, yesterday assured that his leadership will ensure all inclusiveness and adequate reconciliation among aggrieved members to further move the party forward.

He noted that sensitization, mobilisation and organisation are the three main points of attention his administration will focus in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, stressing that the party will resist imposition of candidates during election periods.

The PDP boss stated this in Ilorin shortly after being inaugurated by the immediate past caretaker chairman of the party, Hon. Solomon Edojah, noting that the era of “godfatherism in Kwara PDP” is over.

Nigerian Pilot reports that the inauguration of the 29-man executive members marked a glorious end of the Hon. Solomon Edojah-led caretaker leadership which was constituted by the national working committee of the party with the mandate of putting in place a winning and formidable structure.

He however assured members of the PDP family to remain focused to the cause for which the party is known, stressing that “PDP will regain its stolen mandates from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in all elections through free, fair and credible templates.

Meanwhile, the immediate past caretaker chairman, Hon. Solomon Edojah, has warned the newly constituted Kwara PDP leadership to resist all forms of temptations that may jeopardise its opportunities of delivering the state to the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Hon Edojah also emphasised that it must be on record that he has succeeded in leaving behind “One PDP” in the state stressing that members of the newly inaugurated executive committee should endeavour to put the interest of the party at heart.

He however commended President Goodluck Jonathan and the national leadership of the PDP under the leadership of Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu for ensuring transparency and equity in the party and expressed confidence that the party will win all elections in Kwara State.

“No more godfatrherism and impostors in Kwara PDP. We have succeeded in the mandate given to us three months ago. It was a mission accomplished and I am confident that towing the lines we left behind, PDP will make the day in all elections in Kwara State.
