Schools in Kwara to benefit from skills training programme
About 1000 secondary schools across the 16 local government areas in Kwara state is to benefit from a skill training programme organised by an Ilorin based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Omoluabi Foundation.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Hajia Funsho Abdullahi stated this during the maiden edition of a skill training programme held at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin.
According to her, academic excellence alone cannot guarantee the kind of quality lives people expect owing to complex challenges of the 21st century.
She noted that as the country prepares its youth to be successful leaders in government, administration, education among others, stronger collaboration will be required between the schools and the civil society organizations to promote both academic and social skills in children and youth.
RoyalTimes correspondent reports that the Omoluabi Foundation with focus on youth development will commence a skill training programme involving 40 schools which is to hold in 10 centres across Kwara state.
