Press Release: Kwara APC Evil Plans Exposed - Kwara PDP

Date: 2014-03-01

The Bible says: Know the truth and it shall set you free. Without doubt, the shock of the unexpected large crowd of people witnessed on Sunday, 3rd February, 2014 at the People Democratic Party (PDP) reception would for a long time continued to cause blood-ripples and nightmares in the camp of All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Kwara State.

The unprecedented large turn-up of people across the state was clear evidence, testimony and realisation of total loss of faith, confidence, and despair in the APC leadership and its came duck appendage that supposed to be courageous enough to appreciate this incontrovertible reality of certainty for positive change of guard in Kwara State come 2015.

However, they should be aware that days of business as usual had come and gone. The traditional old tricks of politics full of primordial sentiment is daily giving way to issue orientated matters, the agitation on the lips of an average Kwarans now is for human and capital development and growth.

While it continues to face series of unimaginable predicaments and desired to recover at all cost, APC's leadership is diminishing in relevance and popularity and it preoccupies itself with desperation to carryout its usual characteristic irresponsible and undemocratic antics with resultant consequences of undermining the opinion of the people and tranquillity of the state and its desired growth.

APC's attempt to mobilize hoodlums who will disguise and mingle with our teeming supporters in order to foment trouble at the reception venue in order to embarrass Mr. President and flop-up the event, posters to flood the town unnecessarily, all to create false impression has also been unravelled.

Secondly, attempt to fix Monday, 3rd March, 2014 for an unrealistic meetings with party supporters and disbursement of the sum of N170m dubious loan scheme to members of the NURTW was also detected while names of party supporters was also collated as a target for possible attack under the guise of armed robbery.

Furthermore, let the APC Leadership and its co-travellers be reminded that the political environment of 2003 in which such criminal activities were perpetuated against Late Governor Mohammed Alabi Lawal has been overtaken by events. On our part, we believe that politics must be seen and played without bitterness; we advise the APC Leadership and their accomplices to have a re-think on the proposed devilish plans.

The concern of every rightful and reasonable Kwaran is the promotion and sustenance of peace and tranquillity for the purpose of socio-economic development.

We therefore appeal to our members not to betray their emotion even in the wake of naked provocation on their part while security agencies should not relent in their tireless efforts in combating crimes and criminality in the state.

Mohammed Mariam Alhassan
Chairman, Publicity Committee, Kwara PDP
