The third Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Soffiyyallah Mohammed Kamaldeen Abibullah Al-Adaby has been turbaned today (Saturday).

The Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari will perform the turbaning in his palace in Ilorin beginning from 9.am.

Dignitaries expected at the occasion include prominent Islamic Scholars, clerics from different parts of the country and abroad and a host of others.

Speaking on today’s occasion, the new mufti implored Muslim youths in the country to always promote Islamic culture and always embrace peace and harmony

He promised to collaborate with scholars in the emirate to ensure smooth running of activities of the Muslim Ummah

Sheikh Soffiyyullah was born in June 18 1926 at Ile Ara-Agbaji, Okekere, Ilorin.

A former Area Court judge, the new Mufti is an erudite Islamic scholar who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Islam in Nigeria and beyond.

He was named a-new mufti of Ilorin Emirate on 25th of Ramadan this year, succeeding Late Sheikh Salaudeen Kidiru Apaokagi who succeeded Sheikh Soffiyyullah’s father, Sheikh Mohammed Kamaludeen Aldabi, is the first Mufti of Ilorin.
