JAAC approves N165.4m augumentation for LGAs... Shares N798.6m for October
The Kwara State Joint Local Government Account Committee (JAAC) has approved N165, 476,489.67 budget difference (augmentation) for the 16 Local Government Areas in the state, despite non-receiving of augmentation from federal allocation.
The Chairman of the Committee who is also the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Nurudeen Ademola Banu made this known after the JAAC meeting held in Ilorin on Monday.
According to him, the committee has approved N38, 500,000 for the month of September and N126, 976,488.67 for October totaling N165, 476,489.67k.
He said this would enable the local governments to pay workers salaries since Federal Government has refused to pay augmentation in line with budget to all 36 states of federation.
Banu remarked that non-payment of budget different has been causing salary delay in the 36 states since most of them depend largely on federal allocation.
Banu said that the total amount distributable for October was N798, 611,575.58 representing 13.72 percent lesser than previous month.
He implored all local government areas to ensure prompt payment of salaries, saying that the state government would continue to meet the yearnings of its citizens.
He re-assured that the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed would not allow dwindling revenue from the federation account to affect payment of workers' salaries in the state.
