Professor Oba, denies rumour of candidate imposition

Date: 2014-10-16

A stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kwara state, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, has denied rumour making the round in some quarters that the national hierarchy of the party in Abuja has endorsed certain aspirants for the forthcoming general elections.

Oba stated this while fielding questions from newsmen on Monday.

While advising that aspirants on the platform of the PDP should desist from painting untrue picture about themselves and others in seeking acceptance from delegates, he reiterated his support for the decision of the party to organize free and fair primaries for all aspirants.

Oba, who has registered his interest in contesting the Kwara governorship election in 2015, promised to abide by the outcome of the primaries in deference to the will of the PDP members in the state.

He, therefore, reaffirmed his confidence in the ability of the PDP leadership in the state under the guide of Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo-led Executive Committee in taking the party to the promised land come 2015.
