Date: 2014-08-21

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Gbemisola Rukayyat Saraki have commiserated with the people of Ilorin and entire  emirates over the death of Mufti, Sheikh Sofiyullahi Kamaldeen Habibulahi Al adaby .

The late Mufti died on Monday evening in Ilorin.

Governor Ahmed, in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba  described the passage of the Mufti as a painful and monumental loss to Muslim Ummah in particular and Nigeria at large.

According to the governor, late Sheikh Sofiyullahi Kamaldeen Habibulahi Al-adaby was a veritable pillar of support for his administration, even as the Governor recalled how passionately the Mufti prayed for him and the state during the just concluded month of Ramadan.

The governor, who expressed condolences to the family of the eminent scholar, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU,  the Turaki of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the entire people of the state over the death of the highly respected Mufti, urged Kwarans to use the next eight days to pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the Mufti and other scholars who departed before him.

Similarly, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, in a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin described the death of Sheik Soffiyallah Mohammed Kamaldeen Abibullah Al-Adabiyy as a sad news.

She said late Sheik Soffiyallah Al-Adabiyy was the Grand Mufti of Ilorin and a foremost Islamic scholar, whose counsels would be greatly missed.

“We seek His divine favours as we also pray to Him to grant our Grand Mufti Al Jannah Firdaus”, she further added.
