An Ilorin Socio-Cultural Organization, Third Estate, has earmarked five million naira for the comprehensive renovation of five blocks of classrooms in School A and B of Oke-Aluko Primary School in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The Chairman of the organization, Dr Yusuf Lawal, who gave the indication while flagging-off the exercise at the school premises, said the body deemed it necessary to provide amenities in the school as part of its contribution to repositioning the education sector.
He regretted that most public school structures had been in a dilapidated state, which he said, should also serve as a clarion call to stakeholders in the sector; pointing out that government alone cannot shoulder the burden.
While noting that the renovation was to make the environment friendly for both the staff and students, the chairman believed that public school environments are now glowingly discouraging.

Lawal said the multi-faceted challenges including infrastructures, in the education was alarming, calling stakeholders to rise to the occasion.
He also disclosed that a computer set would be made available to the Head Mistress office in line with the standard set for the project.
The chairman tasked the teachers to impart quality education on the pupils, maintaining that foundation is very significant in the academic pursuits.
