Kwara Government to Spend about N2.3b on Construction of Three Roads
As part of efforts to improve the economy and social activities of the Kwara State, the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved the construction of the three major roads in the state with about 2.3 billion naira.
Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state executive council meeting held yesterday at the government house, the state Commissioner for Work and Transport, Dr Abubakar Kanike said about 1.5billion naira would spent on Arandun-Rore-Aran-Orin/Ipetu road under Ifelodun local government, about 287millon on Umar-audi road, while about 434million would be spent on construction of dilapidated pipeline bridge.
According to him, Arandun road would be completed in the next 12 months, Umar-audi road will take six months while Pipeline Bridge will take five months for it completion as the bridge would be collapsed and be reconstructed to modern one.
Speaking at the briefing, the Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Kayode Issa, said Governor has also approved the procurement of equipments with about 357million naira for Kiama, Share, Omu-aran, Ilorin, and Offa General hospitals, explaining that the hospital were at the point of completion.
Royal FM correspondent, Olarotimi Oshin, who was at the briefing reports that the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, Dr Muideen Akorede has earlier said the Governor of the state was committed to social economic development of the state in term of accelerating the infrastructural development, roads, energy, health, education environment and security among others.
