Kwara New General Hospitals to be Grass Roots Oriented
The new equipment and personnel for five General Hospitals in Ilorin, Offa, Share, Omu-Aran and Kaima in Kwara State are expected to be put in place between April and May this year.
Speaking during inspection of the facilities at the Omu-Aran General Hospital in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed said that the effort would position the institutions for qualitative health care delivery for the people of the state.
Ahmed also assured that all ongoing projects in the state would be completed to specifications, just as he promised to embark upon new ones to improve quality of life of the people.
The Governor, who made the pledge during inspection tour of ongoing projects in the state, added that his administration was committed to its electoral promises.
Ahmed, who expressed satisfaction at the level of work done, emphasised that with the rehabilitated General Hospitals, coupled with the community health insurance scheme expected to now run on a state-wide basis, more people would have access to health care.
“We need healthy people to have a wealthy environment. We need to keep our people healthy and wealthy.
“Infrastructural development will be given priority as part of our concerted effort to ensure that the people at the grass roots have value for their money.” he said.
Other projects inspected included Obbo-Ile-Osu-Aiyetoro-Ejiu-Obbo Ayegunle road, Water works at Obbo Aiyegunle and Oko-Idofin-Odo-Ashe road.
Former governor of Osun State, Brigadier-General Theophillus Gbamigboye, who received the governor at Omu-Aran, along with the people of the community commended Governor Ahmed on his administration’s development programme, while the traditional ruler of Oro-Aiyetoro, Oba Charles Adeyemi expressed the gratitude of his people to the governor.
