The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh, Wednesday stressed the need for collaborative and proactive efforts by the 36 states of the federation in addressing the challenges of insecurity in the country. 

Badeh, who stated this in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital during his courtesy visit to the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, at the Government House, Ilorin as part of his official visit to Air Force Command in the state, said the issue became imperative because the safety of lives and property was no longer safe in the country.

The Air Force boss, who said the need to be proactive had become imperative, advocated for innovative technology in the issue of the nation’s security, which he said was key to his vision in the Air Force.
Badeh, who said the Air Force was a strong arm of democracy in the country, assured Nigerians that the Air Force was committed to the sustenance of democracy.

The tour took the Chief of Air Staff to the hangar, which is for the servicing aircraft at the Ilorin Airport, Gbagaba and Oloje Air Force barracks and the Emir’s palace.

Earlier, Ahmed had said the state government would always complement the efforts of the Federal Government on security matters, stating that the Federal Government cannot do it all alone.
The governor, who said security was crucial to the success of his administration, added that government would rely on the support of officials of the Air Force in achieving the objective.
