The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly election, Rauf Ajakaye, has promised to justify the confidence reposed in him and provide quality representation that will positively impact his constituents if elected.

Ajakaye, a former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, gave the assurance during separate follow-up thank-you visits to APC members in Offa and Oyun local government areas.

He said the visits were to appreciate party members in the two local government areas for conceding the constituency's APC ticket to Ifelodun Local Government, which last produced a representative for the constituency in 1999.

Ajakaye was accompanied by the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Femi Yusuf, and other party faithful.

Expressing his commitment to the people, Ajakaye said he would be a good ambassador of the constituency, remain appreciative of party members and justify the confidence placed in him.

"I am irrevocably committed to representing my constituency well if elected. I will be your good ambassador. I won't look down on party members, and I will not be ungrateful to you.

"I will not disappoint you by the grace of Almighty Allah. I will justify the confidence you have reposed in me," he said.

Ajakaye also urged the people to support all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, from the presidential election down to the state level.

Speaking during the visit, Ifelodun Local Government Chairman Hadji Femi Yusuf expressed confidence that Ajakaye would offer quality representation if elected, noting that the candidate "was not born with a silver spoon" and would therefore have the interest of the masses at heart.

Former Kwara State House of Assembly Leader Hassan Oyeleke and Offa Local Government Chairman Alhaji Suleiman Olatunji also described Ajakaye as an "honourable person" who would not disappoint the people if given their mandate.
