2027: APC Begins Statewide Thank-You Tour with Visits to Monarchs, Stakeholders

Date: 2026-08-03

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have commenced a statewide thank-you tour with visits to traditional rulers, party stakeholders and supporters in Ekiti and Oke-Ero Local Government Areas.

The delegation was led by the party's governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, alongside APC State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, other party leaders and support groups.

The tour began with courtesy visits to the palaces of the Olosi of Osi and Chairman of the Ekiti Council of Chiefs, Oba Saliu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe, and the Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman of the Oke-Ero Council of Chiefs, Oba Samuel Niyi Dada. Traditional rulers from both local government areas were also in attendance.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Ekiti, Danladi expressed appreciation to party members and residents for their support during the APC primary elections and appealed for continued backing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

"We are starting this tour in Ekiti as a mark of honour for our party chairman. We are here to thank you for your support during the party primaries and seek your continued support for all our candidates, from our presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, down to the State House of Assembly," he said.

He assured supporters that an APC administration under his leadership would consolidate the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly in infrastructure development, human capital development, inclusive governance and support for traditional institutions.

Danladi also urged residents to encourage more people to join the APC, saying the party remains open to new members committed to its vision.

In his remarks, APC State Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi highlighted key projects executed by the AbdulRazaq administration in Ekiti Local Government, including the establishment of the Kwara State University (KWASU) campus in Osi and the reconstruction of the Osi-Obbo-Aiyegunle Road.

He called on residents to reciprocate the government's efforts by supporting APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

At the palace of the Olosi of Osi, Fagbemi sought the prayers and blessings of the traditional rulers for the party's candidates.

Also speaking, the member representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, appreciated constituents for their loyalty to the APC and urged them to sustain their support.

The Olosi of Osi and the Alofa of Ilofa commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what they described as his developmental strides across the state and advised the candidates to justify the confidence reposed in them if elected.

Similarly, the APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South, Prince Lekan Adewoye, thanked residents for their support and pledged to prioritise the needs of the district if elected.

Party stakeholders, including Elder Dele Aina and Engr. Ogunmola, reaffirmed Ekiti's status as an APC stronghold and pledged continued support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
