Fidson Healthcare, Kwara Hospitals Board Explore Collaboration on Workforce Development, Drug Supply
The management of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board and the Kwara State Essential Drugs Programme recently undertook a strategic working visit to the ultra-modern manufacturing facility of Fidson Healthcare Plc in Ota, Ogun State, and its corporate head office in Lagos State, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen human capital development and improve the drug supply chain across healthcare facilities in Kwara State.
The delegation was headed by the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, alongside the management team of the Board and the Kwara State Essential Drugs Programme.
They were received by the management team of Fidson Healthcare Plc, led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Pharm Biola Adebayo. During the visit, the delegation toured the company's state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and warehousing systems, gaining firsthand insight into Fidson's advanced production processes, quality assurance standards, and efficient pharmaceutical distribution operations.
Following the factory tour, both parties held a high-level engagement focused on developing strategic areas of collaboration in healthcare workforce development and pharmaceutical supply chain efficiency within Kwara State.
Addressing the engagement, Pharm Biola Adebayo reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting the continuous training and professional development of healthcare workers in Kwara State. He disclosed that Fidson Healthcare Plc would commit resources towards the advanced training and capacity building of healthcare personnel across the state, particularly in the areas of empathy in patient care, conflict resolution, and customer service, with the objective of improving patient experience and strengthening healthcare delivery standards.
He further noted that the company remains committed to supporting initiatives that will enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the pharmaceutical supply chain, while also sustaining its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives aimed at improving public health outcomes and community wellbeing in Kwara State.
In his remarks, Dr Abdulraheem Malik expressed appreciation to Fidson Healthcare Plc for its warm reception and commitment to healthcare advancement in Kwara State. He reiterated the commitment of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board to deepen collaboration with the pharmaceutical company through the adoption of more high-quality pharmaceutical products manufactured by Fidson Healthcare Plc and through joint efforts aimed at improving the efficiency of the drug supply chain across government health facilities in the state.
The visit further reinforced the shared commitment of both institutions towards building a more skilled, patient-centred healthcare workforce and ensuring improved access to quality pharmaceutical products through a stronger and more efficient supply chain system in Kwara State.
