The highly anticipated construction of the Ilorin Emirate Multipurpose Pavilion has officially taken flight following the formal handover of the project site to the contractors.

The ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the Pavilion Steering Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa, and received the royal blessing of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR. The Emir hailed the initiative as a significant landmark that will preserve the cultural identity of the Emirate for generations to come.

According to a statement by the committee's Media Officer, Ibraheem Abdullateef, the pavilion is envisioned as more than just a building; it is designed to be a state-of-the-art center for:

• Cultural Exhibitions: Showcasing the rich heritage and history of the Ilorin Emirate.
• Tourism Growth: Attracting visitors to the state through high-profile socio-cultural events.

The Emir urged the sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate, as well as the general public, to support the execution of the project to ensure its timely completion. He emphasized that the facility would boost the socio-economic profile of the Emirate and Kwara State at large.

The steering committee has assured that the construction will adhere to high architectural standards to reflect the prestige of the ancient city while incorporating modern facilities for public comfort.
