CAF Appoints Ivorian Patrick Tanguy to Officiate Asante Kotoko vs Kwara United Clash

Date: 2025-09-10

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ivorian official Patrick Tanguy as centre referee for the preliminary round first-leg tie between Asante Kotoko and Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Tanguy will be supported by fellow Ivorians Nouho Ouattara as Assistant Referee I and Lancine Kone as Assistant Referee II, with Ibrahim Kalilou Traore serving as the fourth official.

Gambia's Bakary K. Jammeh has been named Match Commissioner, while Sierra Leone's Sanusie Rashid will act as the referee assessor for the encounter.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 21 September at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, where Kotoko will host the Harmony Boys.

The return leg is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, between 26 and 28 September.

The appointment of a fully Ivorian on-field team underscores CAF's regional officiating strategy for continental fixtures.
