National Sports Festival: Kwara's Cycling Star Wins First Gold, Aims for National Team Call-Up
Ashiribo Olalekan has secured Team Kwara's first gold medal in cycling at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State and expressed his wish for a call-up to the Nigerian national team as recognition of his achievement.
Speaking to journalists shortly after his victory, Olalekan celebrated his win and expressed confidence in Team Kwara's ability to earn more medals as the festival continues. He stated: "This gold is just the beginning. I hope to represent Nigeria at the national level and inspire my teammates to keep striving for success."
"The zeal and unwavering dedication of our coach has been a major source of motivation behind my eagerness to deliver gold for Kwara," Olalekan remarked.
He also expressed strong belief in the capabilities of Team Kwara, emphasizing that the athletes are approaching each event with utmost seriousness and determination to make the state proud.
