The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has celebrated the remarkable achievements of four of its distinguished members, who have been selected to take on key academic leadership roles at the University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) in The Gambia. This development marks a significant milestone in Nigeria-Gambia relations under the auspices of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC).

In a congratulatory statement, the President of the NSE, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, commended the selection of the professors and lauded their contribution to enhancing Nigeria's international reputation in education and Engineering. The professors selected for these prominent roles include: Engr. Prof. Nazmat Surajudeen-Bakinde - Vice Chancellor; Engr. Prof. Ado Yusuf Abdulfatah - Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics); Engr. Prof. Akinlabi Oyetunji - Director of Research and Grants; and Engr. Prof. David Terfa Gundu - Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance.

The NSE President expressed pride in the accomplishments of these members, emphasizing their role in strengthening Nigeria's partnership with The Gambia and promoting excellence in Engineering and education.

This recognition further solidifies the long-standing collaboration between Nigeria and The Gambia, with over 12,000 Nigerian professionals, including Engineers, Lawyers, and Medical experts, having served as volunteers in The Gambia under the NTAC since 1987.

The NSE President's statement praised the perseverance and expertise of the selected Engineers, urging them to continue representing the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigeria at large with distinction, while contributing to the growth of the Engineering profession across borders.
