KW-IRS Announces timetable for 2024 Tax Quiz Competition
According to a report from Tribune Online, the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has announced the commencement of the 2024 edition of the Annual Tax Quiz Competition, promising an engaging and rewarding experience for all participants.
The competition, which aims to foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness among the youth, will begin with the opening of application portals for interested schools from Monday, April 22 to Friday, May 17.
In a bid to ensure widespread participation, the service will utilize various media platforms to disseminate information about the competition's criteria and guidelines.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, the annual event seeks to nurture a generation of tax-conscious citizens and raise awareness about taxation in the state.
The preliminary stages of the 2024 edition will be conducted virtually across all registered schools in the state from Monday, June 24th to Friday, June 28.
With an increasing number of schools participating each year, the competition has gained popularity under the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Administration. In 2023, a record 231 schools took part, highlighting the growing interest and enthusiasm among students.
The Overall Best School stands a chance to win the grand prize of N2.5 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive N1.5 million and N1 million, respectively. Additionally, coordinating teachers of the winning schools will also be rewarded with cash prizes. Furthermore, students representing winning schools will receive cash prizes to support their educational endeavors upon admission into higher institutions of learning.
As the seventh edition of this enriching event unfolds, anticipation is high for another year of spirited competition and educational growth, as announced in a press release from the service's social media channels.
