Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, the ministry's Permanent Secretary, announced the temporary closure of the market's abattoir for fumigation and thorough cleaning as part of efforts to safeguard public health.

This development serves as an update to an earlier report on the situation at Mandate Market. Government officials, including Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Toyosi Thomas-Adebayo, Commissioner for Health Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, and key personnel from the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Health, converged at the market to activate measures aimed at protecting public health amidst rumors of poisoned cow meat.
