The Kwara State Fire Service on Monday said it saved 23 shops from a major fire incident in Ilorin, the state capital.

The fire incident occurred at about 03:48 hours (03:48AM) at Emir's shops, opposite Olusola Saraki Market, Ita-Amon Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.

According to the spokesman of the fire service, Hassan Adekunle, “The fire brigade got to know of the fire incident through the running call done by one anonymous person living very close to the scene of occurrence.

“Firemen were able to eliminate the ravaging fire on time, and out of the 23 shops in the building only three shops were affected by the burning fire.”
