Offa, Erin-Ile Motorparks Relocated
The Offa and Erin-Ile branches of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have been ordered to vacate their present positions and relocate their motor parks to the previous locations in both towns with immediate effect.
In a joint statement issued after a meeting with state government officials in Ilorin today over recent conflicts between Offa and Erin-Ile transport workers, the Chairman of Offa Local Government Council, Prince Saheed Popoola and his Oyun Local Government Council Counterpart, Alh. Ibrahim Iyanda Omoniyi, said the decision to relocate the parks to their original locations was in compliance with the existing rules on the minimum distance between motor parks in the state and in order to ensure cordial relationship between NURTW members in Offa and Erin-Ile.
Prince Popoola and Alhaji Omoniyi advised the NURTW to immediately vacate their present locations and return to their original motor parks as law enforcement agents have been directed to ensure prompt compliance with the directive. Furthermore, the Council Chairmen called on the people of Offa and Oyun Local Government Councils to adopt good neighbourliness and embrace the peace as the much-needed development can only take place in an atmosphere devoid of rancour.
