Kwara Central: Senator-Elect Pledges To Prioritize Interests Of Constituents
The new Senator-elect for Kwara Central senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has pledged to prioritize the interests of his constituents over other considerations.
Mallam Mustapha made the pledge in his acceptance speech after his official announcement as Senator-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, North-central Nigeria.
According to him, he takes this mandate as an expression of confidence in his plan for the continued progress of his senatorial district, specifically in his capacity to deliver on his campaign promises.
Mallam Mustapha, who is the Turaki of Ilorin, observed that a moment of victory does not call for jubilation, rather it is a moment to plead for Allah’s guidance and the support of all and sundry for the task ahead towards giving his best to justify that confidence the electorates have placed in him as their elected senator.
He, therefore, solicited the cooperation of the stakeholders, religious leaders, traditional rulers and politicians within Kwara Central to achieve the desired results.
The Kwara Central senator-elect, therefore, called on all the former aspirants who contested the same position to give him their support, having maintained the spirit of brotherhood througout the campaigns prior to the elections.
He expressed appreciation to his family, friends, members of his campaign team and other loyal supporters who continually gave him the confidence to carry on with the energy-draining campaigns that propelled him to victory.
The philanthropist, who is also the founder of Saliu Mustapha Foundation, urged all voters to come out to vote the APC again on the 11th of March (gubernatorial election) to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for continuity and progress of the state.
Mallam Mustapha thanked all the voters in the 52 wards of Kwara Central who put their faith in him and applauded Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his support.
He also eulogized the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress , Prince Sunday Fagbemi, other party leaders and stakeholders for their steadfastness and commitment to the success of the party.
