Sanni Sure of League Action

Date: 2012-12-07

The immediate past coach of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni is positive of league action in the coming 2012/2013 league season.

Sanni lost his job at the Afonja Warriors shortly after the curtain fell on the out gone 2011/2012 season guiding the side to finish on 53 points from 36 matches which the management considered unsatisfactory.

The former Kwara United captain has since been replaced by former Ocean Boys' manager, Samson Unuanel.

However, the amiable coach, who guided the llorin-based side to group stage finish at the 2012 Federation Cup, said he is hopeful of securing a club before the season starts.

"I'm yet to get a switch to any club at the moment but positive moves are on to secure a club.

"Top discussions are going on with few clubs; the discussion is ongoing so it makes sense to keep their identities under dark till we've got to the point of no return.

"Surely, I'll secure a club to handle before the season starts. I won't say right way that it will be in the NPL, NNL or the Nationwide league. I'm holding discussions with clubs featuring in those cadres of the league.

"I'm not insistent on either of the leagues rather want a platform to keep doing what I know best," he said to supersport.com.

Unconfirmed report is linking Sanni for a role at NPL side, Wikki Tourists and NNL side, Rising Stars.

Sanni said he holds no grudge against anybody over the treatment meted out to him at Kwara United.

"I'll always wish the team well and the new manager. I've never seen Kwara United job as a do-or-die affair, I think my best was not good enough for the club so I've to look elsewhere to continue my career. No bad feeling I must assure you," he said.
