Division 1 Volleyball: Kada, Kwara Remains Unbeaten On Day 2

Kada Kings and Kwara United are currently unbeaten in three matches on Day 2 of the ongoing 2021 National Division 1 Volleyball League in Kaduna state.

Kada Kings struggled to beat Kastina United 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-13, 25-21) and eased pass Oyo state volleyball team 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) at the indoor sports hall of Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) in Kaduna on Tuesday.

Earlier, Kwara United did not put up their best performance against Oyo state as they eventually won 3-1 (25-11, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17). Kwara United produced a stunning performance, coming from two sets down to beat JVC of Bauchi 3-2 (25-27, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-13) in an epic match.

Kwara United the first and second set by two points but were able to recover in the third set, beating JVC of Bauchi by 3 points difference (25-22). Kwara United almost threw away the fourth set of the game but all thanks to the timely technical input by coach Wale Badamosi who called for a time out to dish out instructions to his players.

Speaking after the game, the coach of Kwara United, Wale Badamosi commended his players for playing according to instructions while two sets down.

Badamosi revealed that he told his players to give their best during the games adding that giving up was not an option.

He said, "I am happy and impressed with my players because they were very fit. We played in the morning against Oyo state and played in the evening; this shows the fitness level we have. The players camped for two months and trained a lot for this league playing a lot of friendly matches.

"I had every confidence and told my partner that we were going to win; it is not over until it is over. I told my players to enter the court and die there because we want to win all our matches and they played to instructions. We are going to play better in our subsequent matches throughout the league."
