KWASU Management Visit new Commissioner for Tertiary Education

The Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN, led the Management staff of the University on May 19, 2021 to pay a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Senior Ibrahim Suleiman at his office, Kwara State Secretariat Ilorin.
The visit by KWASU Management, was the first since the commissioner was sworn in by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the 11th of May, 2021.
The reasons for the visit was to congratulate the new helmsman on his appointment as the commissioner for the Ministry of Tertiary Education and to also keep him abreast of the latest developments in the institution.
Speaking during the visit, the erudite administrator congratulated the honourable commissioner on his appointment as the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology.
He prayed God to continue to give Barrister Suleiman the strength and wisdom to excel in his new role and guide him in all his endeavors.
Professor Akanbi, further Stressed that the Institution enjoyed a healthy relationship with the state government, noting that the Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman's led administration has in no small way impacted positively in the institution.
The Vice Chancellor stated that the state government's intervention during the accreditation exercise of KWASU law programme and other courses was remarkable.
The legal luminary, in addition, expressed his profound appreciation to the state government for the rehabilitation of the Shao- Malete road, adding that the road, has in no small measure eased the day-to-day stress experienced by commuters plying the route.
He, however, emphasised that the rehabilitation of the road, which is near completion would better serve the institution if eventually completed.
The professor of law appealed to the commissioner to help facilitate subvention to cover the increasing operational costs of the institution, explaining that the institution has been surviving on loans, which has overstretched the financial management capability of the Management.
He, therefore solicited the support of the state government to fund capital projects to accelerate the development of the university.
He stated that KWASU being a tripartite institution is operating from malete alone and expressed his pleasure at having both Osi and Ilesha Baruba campuses completed soon.
Responding, the commissioner welcomed the KWASU management team, assuring them of his utmost cooperation, support and commitment towards the development of the institution.
