Buhari greets Adebayo at 80

Date: 2021-02-25

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a goodwill message to former Kwara State Governor Cornelius Adebayo as he clocks 80 years.

A statement on Tuesday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, reads: "President Buhari joins family and friends of former governor of Kwara State, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, to celebrate his 80th birthday on February 24, 2021, sending warm felicitations to the Senator, who also served the country as a Minister of Communication.

"The President believes Chief Adebayo's strength of character, discipline and visionary leadership style set him apart for responsibilities and great heights at a young age, starting out as a lecturer, commissioner, before gaining the national spotlight, with distinguished service at every stage.

"As the former governor turns an octogenarian, President Buhari affirms that his contributions to the return of democratic governance in the country will always be remembered.

"While praying for good health and longer life for Chief Adebayo, the President urges the elder statesman to always share his wealth of experience, knowledge and wisdom with younger leaders."
