Kwara schools resume Jan 18

Date: 2021-01-17

Schools in Kwara State will resume for the second term on January 18, 2021, according to the state government.

The Permanent Secretary in the state's Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, made this known during the Education Stakeholders meeting held at Ministry's headquarter on Thursday.

According to her, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved January 18, 2021, as the official beginning of the 2020/2021 second term academic session.

She reminded the school administrators and teachers that the safety guidelines of COVID-19 should be intact in all schools.

"Nobody should enter the school premises without using a facemask. Any school that does not comply with the NCDC and Federal Ministry of Education guidelines will face appropriate sanctions," Adeosun said.

The Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers, Chief Olu Adewara, who spoke on behalf of other stakeholders, appreciated the governor for being proactive in decision making, especially on educational development in the state.
