Suspect Disappears with Handcuff in Ilorin

Date: 2012-10-12

A mild-drama occurred on Wednesday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as a suspect in handcuff disappeared from the custody of the police.

He was picked up in his residence at Agbo-Ile in the Offa Garage area of Ilorin.

The suspect, identified as Kamoru Abdulraheem, was allegedly apprehended in connection with the selling of a rifle to another suspect, who is being held by the police.

Abdulraheem, popularly known as Gaji, was said to be a son of a traditional chief in the area.
He was also said to have been expelled by the authorities of Federal Polytechnic Offa for anti-social behaviour.

Following the suspect's dramatic disappearance, the police had arrested his younger brothers, named Abu and Jimoh.

When contacted, the Kwara State Police Spokesman, Femi Fabode, denied knowledge of the incident, but promised to get back to The Herald if his office is informed.
