The Kwara state Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq today inaugurated the long lasting insecticide nets campaign cordination committee for the smooth sailing of the oncoming insecticide net campaign in kwara state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq explained that Kwara State Government is mindful of the health of her citizens and has chosen to tackle the problem of malaria alongside with war against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Raji further task all members of the committee to work hard to sustain the leading position of Kwara state in health care delivery in the country.

He also called on the committee members to be proactive in discharging their responsibilities in order to achieve the desired outcome.

The Technical Director for the National Malaria Elimination Program, Prof. Olugbenga Mokuolu, who was also in attendance, applauded the efforts of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and charged all the committee members to remain committed to the purpose as a way of further projecting the good image of the Kwara state Government.

Prof Mukuolo further stressed that the campaign this year is going to be technologically driven and the distribution will be from house to last house .

He also pleaded with the project partners to cooperate with the leadership of the Ministry of Health and all stakeholders for the campaign to be successful and congratulated the state Malaria Elimination team for the great achievement so far.

Representative of National Malaria Elimination Program, Mr Zakaria Musa said Kwara state will be the first campaigning state in North central.

Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, Acting Executive Secretary Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Micheal Oguntoye, Director Public Health Dr Oluwatosin Fakayode, all Directors in the ministry of health, representative of the Ministry Education,Youth and Sport, Social Development, Communications, Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, SFH, ACHOMIN and WHO.
