Members of the new Kwara State House of Assembly Service have been charged to be fair and live in their discharge functions.

The Speaker Dr. Ali Ahmad, gave the charge in illegal while inaugurating the new State House of Assembly Service Commission.

Dr. Ahmad explained that handlers of matter are related to recruitment, promotion and discipline of civil servants, they should justify the reposed confidence in them.

The Speaker, who was inaugurated as the climax of the long term struggle for independence, said that the feat was achieved recently during the last 4th term of the constitution.

Their appointments were based on their rich pedigree in the public service where they had proven themselves as individuals with high moral rectitude and integrity.

Responding, the chairman of the State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Babatunde Mohammed, assured that members would lay a solid foundation by performing their statutory functions diligently and effectively.

Hon Mohammed, between the outgoing, promising to work with career officers, incoming legislators and staff to sustain the vibrancy of the house, praised the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, Governor Abdul- Fatah Ahmed and the Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki for achieving the herculean task.

Earlier, the Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimat Jummai Kperogi, had recalled with nostalgia that the State House of Assembly had emerged as one of the first few states with the legislative commission, which according to her, had become autonomous in the performance of its statutory function of providing platform for good governance in the state.

She praised the Speaker and other outgoing members of the 8th legislature, for their resilience in achieving autonomy for state legislature in the country.

It would be recalled that the House, had on Tuesday, 7th May 2019 confirmed the appointments of Hon Abdul Azeez Babatunde Mohammed, Hon Nimota Aduke Ibrahim, Alh Atolagbe S. Alege, Mr. Alex Kehinde Bankole and Alh. Hassan Mahmud Babako as Chairman and members of the state House of Assembly Service Commission.
