Ilorin Emirate, Kwara Govt Close Ranks on Land Policy
Stakeholders in Ilorin Emirate of Kwara State, including the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have resolved and dismissed in its entirety, the issues concerning the alleged sales of Eid-Praying Ground, which they said has been verified and found to be false.
Speaking after a meeting with the management of Bureau of Land in Ilorin, the people assured that the state government would continue to pursue policies that would improve the well being of all and sundry.
The Kwara State chapter of the PDP led by the State Chairman Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani, in collaboration with the Ilorin Emirate Elders led by Oba Bolanta, on Monday, had met with the management of the State Bureau of Lands with a view to resolving the all misgivings associated with the suspended land policy in the State.
According to a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe, the meeting which was at the instance of the PDP leadership in the state jointly, reviewed all the issues relating to Land policy as it affects the people of the state.
The joint meeting which commended the prompt action of the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, who had directed the immediate suspension of the law, aligned with the government's decisions to allow all stakeholders have input in the on going review.
The PDP chairman said the review required by stakeholders would be adequately and promptly looked into with a view to meeting the yearning and aspirations of the people.
The meeting also commended the wisdom of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Union (IEDPU) for their readiness to work with the state government in its determination to ensure that all areas of concern were properly addressed and resolved.
"As a party, while we commend the giant stride of the Peoples governor. Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, for the achievements recorded so far in the areas of developmental progra-mmes and policies and even distribution of dividends of democracy to all and sundry, we wish to reiterate our absolute confidence in his ability and capability to take our dear state to the next level."
