Kwara: Saraki not welcome in PDP - Abdulrazaq

Date: 2018-02-05

The attempt by the factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State to welcome the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, back to the party is undemocratic and self-serving, a party stalwart Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has said.

In a statement he personally signed, Abdulrazaq, who was the PDP candidate in the March 28, 2015, Kwara Central Senatorial election, warned that Saraki constituted an "albatross" that would sink the ship of the party.

He accused the factional chairman of not understanding the dynamics of politics in the state, adding that though the party's doors were open to new members; it would not accept red carpet treatment for anyone.

"PDP does not need Saraki to win elections in Kwara State," he said. "The recent local government elections in the state in which PDP won overwhelmingly is a testament to that. The people of Kwara State are tired of poor service delivery, non-payment of salaries and absence of governance," he added.
