Ilorin Agog For Flying Eagles, Tanzania Clash

Date: 2012-08-12

Nigeria's U-20 team, the Flying Eagles will not in any way lack support as the 'City of Harmony' Ilorin, is ready to play the perfect host to today's African Youth Championship qualifier between the Nigerian team and their counterparts from Tanzania.

The Flying Eagles enjoy a slight advantage, having won the first game 2-1 two weeks ago and are looking good to complete the job today as they lay ambush to the Ngorogoro Stars.

Kwara State sports officials have promised a hitch-free and successful match

"We are ready to stage a hitch-free and very successful match", promised Kwara State sports commissioner, Kayode Towoju, who along with Special Adviser (sports) Toyin Olookoba, was in the fore front of getting the government to bankroll this second round qualifier.

"It is a big window to show what Kwarans can do, given the opportunity", he added.

Meanwhile, football lovers in Kwara state and Nigeria will pay between N100 and N500 to gain entrance to the Kwara Township stadium to watch the game.

Fans will pay 500 Naira for the top seats and 100 Naira for the cheap seats for this encounter.

The last time, the Kwara State capital city hosted a Tanzanian
team was in 1999 during a CAF Cup match involving Kwara United and Yanga Stars.

The winner of the Nigeria versus Tanzania clash over the
two legs will play against the winner of the South Africa, Dr Congo duel for a place at next year's Africa Youth Championships.
