A Kwara State Youth Corper, Omokanye Oladapo (@hon.brown) popularly known as Hon. BROWN recently came into spotlight following his outstanding initiative of supporting students and youth in Kwara State. He purchased 10 JAMB 2017 Forms for some students in Kwara State as part of supporting education especially the financially handicapped ones, who have passion to further their education in tertiary institutions.

"Enlightening the youths especially on Educational matters is one of my passion and I believe if all Nigerian youths need not to wait until they achieve a certain height or status before making contributions to the development of the country" He said.

Omokanye is a graduate of Biochemistry from University of Ilorin. One inspiring thing about his initiative was the discipline and dedication it took him to save his monthly 'Allawee' and some personal funds to make his dream of supporting the academic pursuits of the beneficiaries.

He pointed out that Many of his friends were making jest of him in a bid to discourage him from embarking on the initiative. They claimed not to see any reason one should spend the stipend given to Youth Corpers by the Government on matters which the same government should address.

7 of the beneficiaries of the program were drawn from his community (Kwara South), and 3 students chosen from outside his Senatorial districts.

He however encouraged the students to judiciously make use of the opportunity by studying hard so that they can make it to their respective institutions. "I believe we can do the little in our capacity as youths to make the country better and not necessarily waiting for the government to do everything for us. We might need to wait forever if we don't change this ideology " He posited.
