Kwara Karate Chairman lauds athletes

The success of Kwara Karatekas at the just concluded Karate Federation organised by Cadet Championship has been applauded by the Chairman of Kwara Karate Association, Alhaji Sulaiman Ishola. Alhaji Ishola is the Accountant-General of the state.

He commended the karatekas for doing the state proud by winning two gold, three silver and six bronze medals at the national championship held in Lagos state.

The championship was aimed at developing potential karatekas that will eventually represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Africa Karate Youth Championship and the All Africa Championship.

Alhaji Ishola, who was elated by the feat recorded by the athletes personally doled out N10,000 to each of the gold medalists, N5,000 for each of the silver medalists and N3,000 for each of the bronze medalists.

He praised the Pillar of Sports in Nigeria, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, who is also the President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria for his support to Kwara karatekas.

While also commending the Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, charged the coach, Akeem Lawal not to relent in his efforts to produce national champions from the state.

Among those who witnessed the reception are the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Mr. Olaitan Adefila, DG Burreau of Lands, Alhaji Ibrahim, the CFA, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Razaq Ibrahim and Bayour Issah, who is also a Board member of the association.
