It was a sea of heads yesterday in Ilorin at the fidau for the late Balogun Fulani of Ilorin, Alhaji Durosinlorun Atiku.

The prayer which was presided over by the chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir and assisted by Imam Imale of Ilorin was attended by the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Ali Ahmad, members of the state House of Assembly, members of the state executive council.

Others in attendance include; Council Chairmen, All Progressives Congress(APC),across the state, representative of Emir of Ilorin and the Ciroma of Ilorin, Barr. Abubakar Bature Sulu Gambari, traditional rulers across the state, Baloguns, Magajis and Daudus and others from all walks of life.

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir in his brief sermon extolled the virtues of the late Balogun, describing him as an embodiment of humility. He urged the congregation to rededicate themselves to the course of Allah and shun all acts that could make them incur the wrath of their creator.

In his lecture, the Grand Mukadam of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulaiman Dan-Borno urged parents to raise their children in the way of Allah. He also stressed the need the parents to work hard towards their children's acquisition of Islamic education.

The scholar who frowned at degeneration of Islamic ethnics and values, called for concerted efforts from stakeholders in restoring the lost glory.

He also spoke on certain misconception about some aspects in the religion and called for caution from scholars in order not misleads innocent adherents. He also urged Muslims to be well prepared for death, saying that it would come at God appointed time and unannounced.
