Ramadan fasting cures diabetes, obesity - Prof
Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Oladosu, has highlighted the health, moral, physical and spiritual benefits inherent in partaking in Ramadan fasting.
According to the Professor of Arabic Language Education, fasting during the month of Ramadan will make one physically fit, spiritually balanced and medically okay. He pointed out that the Ramadan fast is capable of curing chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, heart and kidney problems.
The chief imam also advised governors owing civil servants in their respective states to find a way of paying them in order to remove the hardship confronting them.
He observed that the reason behind bad governance in Nigeria is due to lack of the fear of Allah. Oladosu noted that for Nigeria to move forward, we need to go back to our roots and retrace our steps. He pointed out that we need to seize the opportunity provided by Ramadan to seek the favour of Allah.
He, however, stressed that the wide gap between the rich and poor should be bridged during the glorious month, adding that people only "sympathise without empathising".
