The authorities of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara statehave warned newly admitted students of the institution to shun cultism and vandalism. The Rector, Dr. Mufutau Olatunde Olatinwo stated this during the matriculation of the 2015/2016 new intakes, on Thursday.

The Rector, who said the school has zero tolerance for all acts of indecencies and violence, added that the authorities would deal decisively with any student found to be involved in such act.

He further said that students should share and be part of the existing efforts of the Polytechnic to reposition Nigeria for the better, adding that they should also start thinking of contributions to make Nigeria achieve her vision 2020 drive.

While speaking with newsmen, Dr. Olatinwo also revealed that the institution's certificates are printed the same place where the Nigerian money are printed, "The main thing is for the matriculating students to be as focused as possible.

Know why they are here, which is to acquire knowledge and be educated; that is your primary assignment. All other things are secondary. That is the only way, after graduation at whatever level, you can courageously chest out for having your certificate at whatever discipline you were admitted into.

"I give glory to God, when I came on board, this school was not issuing any certificate to any graduating student. Now we issue certificate to our graduands, both the National Diploma (ND) and HND. We still have them in store" he added.
