Two Kwara communities, Iwoye land and Ayedun in Oke Ero local government area of the state have dragged ?themselves to court over who rules and who appoints chiefs in both communities.

The Obajisun in-council of Ayedun, recently in a publication said it has stripped Oba Ayantola Micheal Sunday of his title as the Obaoye of Ayedun for transforming himself illegally into the position of a king.

Meanwhile, the Obaoye of Iwoye land in a response said the Obajisun has no power to remove or depose an Obaoye? or suspend any chief in Iwoye community of Ayedun.

"The history, tradition and custom of Iwoye and Ayedun are sacred and nobody can unilaterally alter them. As law abiding citizens of Iwoye, we shall not join issues with the publication because the matter is already before the High Court of Justice, Omun Aran.

"Thus, the purported deposition or suspension of Obaoye and Chief Oba-Aro and Olowa of Iwoye in Ayedun Oke Ero is an abuse of court and its processes," ?the Obaoye of Iwoye said.

He therefore appealed to the people of Ayedun in general and Iwoye in particular to be calm over the issue in dispute.
