Hakeem Lawal To Sponsor 100 Youths For CISCO Training
A former gubernatorial aspirant in Kwara Staten on the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hakeem Lawal has announced a plan to bankroll CISCO training of 100 youths in the state.
Lawal disclosed this during an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday in Ilorin.
He said the IT training programme forms part of his contributions to the empowerment of youths in the state.
Lawal said the training would cost him an average of $2,000 USD or N500,000 per participant and advised unemployed youths in the state to register in earnest.
He assured that selection of the prospective beneficiaries of the programme would be done transparently.
Lawal said the scheme is open to youths across Kwara irrespective of their local government of origin, political or religious affiliations.
He said by training one man in a family of average of four or five persons; it then means the programme would invariably be putting food on the tables of five hundred people.
Lawal lamented the lust for material wealth and political power by most Nigerians and as a result abandon their services to humanity and God.
He assured both the organisers and Kwara people that the CISCO training was part of his pledge to continue the good works of his father and probably surpass it.
"I believe that for every young man with good education and direction, you will always aim to build on what you met with the guidance of the leaders and not to destroy it.
"I have therefore been trying to toe the line of my father's philanthropy, made contributions to the development of our communities and the society at large through social and manpower development", Lawal stated.
