Kwara Dep Gov mourns late Emir of Borgu

The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira has described the late Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro as a man of peace who worked for the progress of the nation.

Elder Kisira stated this yesterday in an interview with newsmen in New Bussa, Niger State shortly after attending the fidau for the late Emir.

The Deputy Governor who delivered the state government's condolence message to the family, government and the people of Niger State said the late Alhaji Dantoro was a bridge builder and a respected royal father. He called on Nigerians to emulate his sterling qualities and legacy to ensure the development of the country.

Elder Kisira charged the people of the emirate to build on the achievements of the late Emir in the task of building an egalitarian society.

The programme was attended by eminent personalities across the country including the Kwara State Head of Service, Hajia Zhara Umar and the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Abdulrasheed Na`Allah.
