''The command has sent out an operational order that will cover the period of the Sallah celebration and beyond’’, he said.

Ajayi-Okasanmi said all the personnel were already at their duty posts in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

''Maximum security has been put in place in all designated praying grounds in all parts of the state. We are fully ready to prevent sabotage and protect residents.

''We are going to make use of all we have in our arsenal; all departments in the command will be working, from information department to anti robbery and bomb squad. In short all hands will be on deck’’, he assured.

He added that measures aimed at countering terrorism had been put in place to ensure peaceful celebration.

He advised residents to abide by law and cooperate with law enforcement agents before, during and after the festival.

He advised motorists to avoid driving recklessly and overloading during the period.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr Ali Ahmad has urged Muslims to sustain the lessons of piety, steadfastness, love, tolerance, and perseverance in the month of Ramadan.

Ahmad gave the advice in a statement signed by his media aide, Alhaji AbdulRahman Sanni to mark Eid-el-Fitri.

The statement said the sustenance of piety beyond the sacred month would enhance the well-being of the nation.

The statement noted that most Muslims had used the period to move closer to God and extended hands of benevolence to the down trodden.

It said when such virtues were sustained after the holy month, the nation's lost glory would be restored.

The statement advised Muslim faithful to use the festival to reflect on how the nation can overcome insecurity and corruption.

It urged them to use the period to pray for sustained peace and stability of the nation.

The statement advised Nigerians to always place national and collective interests above parochial consideration to make the nation overcome her current travails.

Also, Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Kola Oluwawole, appealed to Nigerians to observe the Eid-El-Fitri holidays modestly.

The speaker, in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, charged Nigerians to shun acts capable of jeopardising the existing peace in the country.

He congratulated Muslim faithful for the successful completion of Ramadan fast.

He prayed that it would yield the fruit of peace, progress and blessings in Ekiti in particular and Nigeria in general.

The speaker advised Muslim faithful not to allow the lessons of sacrifice, holiness, giving and humility learned during the Ramadan to end with it.

Oluwawole in the statement urged Ekiti residents to continue to pray for the present administration in the state to enable it paddle the state’s canoe to a safe landing.

He reiterated the commitment of the Assembly at enacting laws that would bring about turn-around development in Ekiti state. (NAN)
