Emir of Ilorin harps on Nigeria's unity
The Emir of llorin, Alhaji lbrahim Sulu-Gambari, yesterday urged stakeholders to ensure that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity to enable it maintain its enviable leadership position in Africa.
Sulu-Gambari spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, while playing host to the executive members of Gamji Club led by its President General, Dr Yusuf Laro.
The emir, who advised politicians to play the game according to the rules, stressed that no meaningful development could be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
He charged Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations to ensure that the country remains an indivisible entity.
The traditional ruler expressed optimism that the forthcoming general elections would be peaceful.
Earlier, President General of Gamji Club in Kwara, Dr Yusuf Laro, had said they were at the palace to intimate the emir on the Gamji day celebration slated for Saturday in Ilorin. He solicited his cooperation towards the success of the programme.
